SEASIDE HEIGHTS – Although Seaside officials previously denied MTV’s “Jersey Shore” the right to film in Seaside Heights again, some are saying let them in.

An online petition has been started on change.org by “Bring Back Jersey Shore” to bring the show back, calling it “nothing but good” for the borough.

While officials initially denied the producers of the show a permit to film in Seaside again, they eventually granted them a two-day filming permit back in June. However, the township has no plans to bring the show back full time according to Borough Administrator Christopher Vaz.

According to the petition, this is the wrong way to go.

“It will greatly impact Seaside Heights for the better,” bringing in lots of revenue, the petition states. “It’s not fair that Seaside Heights, New Jersey won’t allow them back to film.”

After its brief stint filming in Seaside recently, the show’s producers, 495 Productions, have tried to get access to other towns, such as Brick and Wildwood, to film. Both Brick and Wildwood denied them a permit.

While many associate the popular show with drinking, partying, and even fighting, the petition claims that the show is not that same wild party it used to be. It’s been many years since the show aired back in 2009, and the petition emphasizes that the cast has grown up since then.

As of July 12, 389 have signed the petition, which is aiming for 500 signatures.

“We feel with Jersey Shore being back it will bring seaside more money…It will greatly impact seaside heights for the better,” stated the petition.

The petition can be found at change.org/p/seaside-heights-governor-bring-mtv-jersey-shore-back-to-seaside-heights-nj.

As we reported this week, Brick Township doesn’t want them.

They were seen filming in Atlantic City earlier this week.
