Missing Freehold Teens Found Safe

FREEHOLD – Two teenage girls who were first reported missing on Wednesday have been found safe and sound.

According to the Freehold Township Police Department, 15-year-old Jocelyn Zaveckas was found on Thursday around 8 p.m. by the Rutgers University Police Department in New Brunswick.

16-year-old Kayla Destefano was found by New Brunswick Police Friday night around 6 p.m. in New Brunswick.

Both girls left a Jackson Township home Wednesday. There’s no word on how they ended up in New Brunswick or why.

A Facebook post confirms the information and thanks several law enforcement agencies who went looking for the pair.

They thanked the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Freehold Borough Police Department, Rutgers University Police Department, Sayreville Police Department, New Brunswick Police Department, Howell Township Police Department, Jackson Township Police Department and NJ Transit Police Department

They also thanked Freehold Township residents and all those on Facebook who shared their post and helped get the word out.
