JACKSON – The plains of Six Flags Wild Safari have some new stripes this season with the birth of three Grant’s zebra foals, adding playful energy to the park’s herd before the safari closes for the year on November 9.
The trio — one male, one female, and one not yet sexed — were born just weeks apart, with the youngest arriving only days ago. All three are Grant’s zebras, the smallest and most common subspecies of plains zebra found in eastern Africa.
Visitors can spot the curious foals sticking close to their mothers as they graze, develop their distinctive striping patterns, and interact with the rest of the herd. The youngsters have not yet been named as animal care specialists continue to monitor their growth and personalities.
“These births are an exciting milestone for our zebra herd,” said Dr. William Rives, Director of the Wild Safari. “The foals are healthy, curious, and already showing unique personalities. Fall is a beautiful time to visit the safari and see these little ones up close.”
The drive-through safari features more than 1,200 animals from around the globe — including giraffes, rhinos, lions, and antelope — spread across 350 acres of savanna-style habitats.
Guests can visit before the park’s seasonal closure on November 9. For tickets and hours, visit www.sixflags.com/greatadventure
