HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — A former school employee who once taught in Stafford Township is facing more charges after investigators identified two additional victims in an ongoing sexual assault case, authorities said.
Darnell Williams, 34, of Whiting, has been charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree official misconduct, according to the Township of Hamilton Police Department. Police said the new victims are 11 and 12 years old during his employment at the Hamilton Township School District.
The update comes less than two weeks after Williams was first arrested on August 28. At that time, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office alleged that Williams sexually assaulted a child under his supervision during an incident on February 21, 2025.
Williams most recently worked as a supervisor in the Hamilton Township School District, where Superintendent Jeffery Zito said he was placed on administrative leave and later terminated before the end of last school year. “As a District, we are committed to the safety, security, and well-being of every student and take any allegations regarding employee misconduct seriously,” Zito said in a statement to New Jersey 101.5.
Before his role in Atlantic County, Williams was a sixth-grade teacher at Stafford Intermediate School and also coached women’s basketball at Ocean County College.
Williams remains held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to contact Hamilton Township Police at 609-625-2700 or the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-909-7666.
