LAKEWOOD – With weeks to go before the start of the new school year, a Vice Principal of Lakewood High School was arrested for possessing child pornography.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office confirms 63-year-old Major L. Finklin was taken into custody on August 16 by the Brick Township Police Department and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
According to Al Della Fave at the Prosecutor’s Office, Finklin’s computers were seized during the investigation.
Della Fave tells Jersey Shore Online “as in any case of child pornography, the High-Tech Crime Unit goes to work to conduct a full forensic investigation.”
Finklin, a Toms River resident, was released on a summons.
The Lakewood School District’s website lists Finklin as the 9th Grade Vice Principal.
The Lakewood Scoop had first reported that a longtime school official turned himself into police last week.
Finklin is suspended without pay and the district has started an investigation of their own.
