Phone Scam Targets Social Security Benefits

STAFFORD – Stafford Township Police are warning residents that yet another phone scam is making the rounds.

A prerecorded message claiming to come from Social Security claiming benefits will be suspended due to illegal activity.

“This call is from Social Security Administration Department the reason you are receiving this prerecorded message is to notify you that we have got an order to suspend your social on immediate basis because your social has been found suspicious for some illegal activity it’s very time sensitive and urgent that I do hear back from you before we proceed further with suspension of your social assets my direct callback number is 650-231-2067 again the number is 650-231-2067,” Stafford Police relayed.

The message is fake and should be ignored.
