STAFFORD – A fast moving fire sent residents of a Manahawkin home and neighbors into the cold as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.
Stafford Township Police confirmed the January 29th blaze broke out at a house on South Union Street in the downtown section of town.
When officers arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames and the residents and neighbors were able to evacuate safely.
The Stafford Township Fire Company, Stafford EMS, and other agencies responded to the scene.
South Union Street was shut down for several hours while the scene was cleared.
The cause of the fire is unknown but is currently under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshall and the Stafford Township Bureau of Fire Prevention.
