MONMOUTH COUNTY – New Jersey’s total presumptive positive cases of COVID-19, aka coronavirus, has jumped to 11, according to Monmouth County officials.

The county released a press statement Monday afternoon which said a 27-year-old man from Little Silver and an 83-year-old woman from Hazlet are both in stable condition at area hospitals.

The 27-year-old man had just returned from the Biogen conference in Boston and is being treated at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank while the 83-year-old is at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.

According to a statement from Monmouth County Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone, officials continue to monitor the situation and will release more information when it becomes available.

The COVID-19 can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth, including when an individual coughs or sneezes. These droplets may land on objects and surfaces. Other people may contract COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. Symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and shortness of breath. Symptoms may appear in as few as two days or as many as 14 days following exposure.

Health officials are urging everyone to wash their hands, stay home if you’re sick and avoid large crowds if you aren’t feeling well.
