Man Arrested For Lewd Acts In A Park

  LAKEHURST – Police arrested a local man for allegedly touching himself inappropriately at a park when a child was present.

  The man, Richard Davis, 65, of Lakehurst, was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, according to a press release from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

  The incident happened on May 17. A mother reported to the police what the man was doing while in the presence of a child at Lake Horicon. Based on the description and further investigation, Davis was questioned by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims’ Unit and Officers from the Lakehurst Police Department

  Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer praised the Lakehurst Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit for their quick, yet thorough investigation. 

  “Lake Horicon is a beautiful area. Families should be able to visit the lake and the park without fear of this type of behavior,” he said.

  Police reminded readers that defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
