JACKSON – Police are investigating how a car ended up crashing into a townhome in Jackson in the wee hours of the morning.
Ocean County Scanner News was first to report that a 24-year-old male was behind the wheel of his car around 4:00 a.m. on Friday when he drove into the rear of 1101 Fern Court in Jackson Township.
According to multiple sources, the man told police that he had fallen asleep at the wheel just before the crash.
No one was injured and the driver, who wasn’t identitied, was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
Due to the possibility of structural damage to the property, the Brick Township Technical Rescue Team was requested to come to the scene by Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 – Station 55. According to a social media post from Laurelton Fire Company Number 1, the two departments worked in tandem to secure hazards and shore up the affected area of the damaged residence.
