Motorcycle Crash In Brick Leaves One Critically Injured

BRICK – A Toms River man was critically injured in a morning motorcycle accident on Route 70 in Brick Township.

Brick Police Patrolman Keith Donnelly confirms 30-year-old Michael LaRocca was heading east on 70 and as he rode his green Kawasaki motorcycle through the intersection of Cedar Bridge Avenue, it began to wobble.

LaRocca lost control of the motorcycle and crashed it into the guardrail. He fell to the ground and suffered severe internal and external injuries.

Patrolman Donnelly added “the motorcycle continued to slide in the eastbound lane and ultimately stopped after crossing into the westbound lanes.”

The driver was transported to Jersey Shore University Trauma Center by Brick Township Police E.M.S. and M.O.N.O.C. Paramedics.

The road was closed for about an hour and a half during the cleanup and investigation.
