HOWELL – An accident involving a motorcycle and a truck on Squankum-Yellowbrook Road in Farmingdale that closed the road for several hours during the Thursday afternoon commute, also led to the arrest of a Howell Township man.

Howell Township Police tell Jersey Shore Online that 29-year-old Loren Prom of Willingboro was riding his 2012 Yamaha FZ8-N northbound on 524A when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the motorcycle.

Prom slid and struck a truck driven by 64-year-old Jeffrey Rosenberg of Howell who was driving south on Route 524A. Prom was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest a short distance away.

Rosenberg saw Prom losing control of the motorcycle and tried to slow the truck which was almost at a stop when the impact occurred.

Prom was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune via medical chopper and is now listed in stable condition.

During the investigation, police discovered marijuana in Rosenberg’s vehicle. He was arrested and charged with possession of under fifty grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a criminal summons.

The Howell Township Police along with Howell EMS, Farmingdale-Howell First Aid Squad, MONOC Paramedics (both ground and air units) and the Squankum Fire Company all responded to the scene.

The road was opened a few hours after the crash.
