TOMS RIVER – A large sinkhole is causing some travel problems in Toms River Township.
According to Toms River Police Department Spokesperson Jillian Messina, Hooper Avenue is closed in both directions between Hadley Ave and Franklin Avenue.
Traffic is being diverted at this time.
No word on when the road will be repaired. Multiple police officers are on the scene.
According to Toms River Fire Company #1, they estimate the hole to be 10 to 12 feet deep.
