TOMS RIVER – For the second time in as many months, a fight broke out on Route 37 and it was all caught on video.

Ocean County Scanner News was first to report the truly bizarre incident that took place on January 9 in the west end section near the Toms River and Island Heights border.

According to eyewitnesses, several men on motorcycles were traveling down the road and some got stuck at the red signal at the intersection while others did not. For some unknown reason, one of the men got off the motorcycle and a driver in a car got out and the punches and kicks started flying.

Toms River Police Department Spokesperson Jillian Messina told Jersey Shore Online that their units were dispatched to the intersection of Vaughn Avenue for a reported fight in the middle of the roadway. Messina confirms that by the time officers had arrived, both parties had left the scene.

This is the second time in less than three months that a fight broke out on the busy road in the township. The first was when two women got of their cars back in October after an apparent road rage incident. The video went viral on social media and they faced charges.

One thing was certain from the video – no one was wearing a mask or socially distant during the heated street violence.

Stay safe everyone!
