TOMS RIVER – One of Toms River Township EMS’s Emergency Medical Technicians was arrested on August 23 on fraud charges, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The EMT, 30 year old Frank Civitano of Toms River, was charged with fraud for allegedly attempting to access the EMS union bank account without permission. Civitano is also the union treasurer.

Toms River Police allege that Civitano forged two official signatures on a document to grant himself access to the union’s online bank account.

The amount of money Civitano had access to is unknown.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the matter.
