Three Injured In Ocean County Shooting

SOUTH TOMS RIVER – Authorities in Ocean County are investigating a shooting incident in South Toms River that left three people injured.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and South Toms River Police Chief William Kosh announced that on August 25th, at approximately 1:16 a.m., South Toms River Police were dispatched to a borough residence for a report of a gunshot victim. It was determined that the victim was shot at a different location and ran to the residence for help.  The victim was treated at the scene and transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that two additional victims were transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River, each arriving in personal vehicles. It was confirmed that both victims suffered gunshot wounds from the same incident.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit, Beachwood Police Department, and Pine Beach Police Department all assisted the investigation at the scene.
