Teen Driver Injured After Crash With Utility Pole

TOMS RIVER – A 17-year-old male suffered several non-life-threatening injuries after crashing into a utility pole Monday.

The Forked River teen struck a pole on New Hampshire Avenue, just south of North Maple Avenue, according to Toms River Police.

He was taken to Community Medical Center by Lakewood EMS.

The road was shut down for several hours Monday evening as Verizon utility crews replaced the pole.

The teen was charged with careless driving. Traffic Safety Officer Mark Nater is investigating.
