TOMS RIVER – A DUI checkpoint on Route 37 West yielded very productive results for the New Jersey State Police on August 18. In just five hours, the detail resulted in 9 DUIs and one fugitive arrest.

State police also interacted with approximately 400 vehicles to spread the #DriveResponsibly message.

The checkpoint was located on the westbound side of Route 37, in front of the Pisces Seafood restaurant. The location was chosen based on safety factors as well as the high volume of traffic that exists at the through-way between Seaside Heights and Toms River.
