JERSEY SHORE – Ocean County is once again proving a lucky place to buy lottery tickets, with three local retailers selling scratch-off tickets worth a combined $30,000 in the New Jersey Lottery’s latest weekly prize report.
Two tickets sold in Toms River and another purchased in New Egypt each delivered a $10,000 prize, according to the report covering Oct. 12-18.
The Corner Store at Toms River, at 2001 Ridgeway Road, sold a winning Super Hot 7’s ticket listed for Oct. 15.
Two more wins followed on Oct. 18, both involving the Black Opal 7’s game. Those $10,000 tickets were sold at Wawa at 1 Maple Ave. in New Egypt and Wawa at 179 Route 37 E. in Toms River.
The three Ocean County prizes were among 13 lottery wins of at least $10,000 reported statewide for the week. The report identifies the stores that sold the tickets but does not name the winners or indicate where they live.
Neighboring Monmouth County also had a major winner: A $1 million Black Opal 7’s ticket was sold at Mak on Main Liquors, 1500 Main St. in Asbury Park, and listed for Oct. 16.
