TOMS RIVER – A local resident won the lottery.

No, it wasn’t the $868 million one.

It was a $10,000 ticket, sold at the 7-Eleven located at 260 Route 37 in Toms River.

The NJ Lottery Commission announced that the winning numbers for the Tuesday, Oct. 16 drawing were: 03, 45, 49, 61 and 69. The Gold Mega Ball was 09, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 05.

The Toms River ticket was one of seven that matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball, which pays out a second-tier prize. Two of them were purchased with the Megaplier option, vaulting them up to $50,000.

A Cedar Knolls 7-Eleven sold a second-tier prizewinning ticket, worth $1 million. If it had been Mega-plied, it would have been worth $5 million.
