FREEHOLD – A 28-year-old Barnegat man was killed on Route 33 Business when he rear-ended a tractor trailer, authorities reported.
The man’s identity has not been released.
The truck had pulled out of Freehold Cartage when the man, traveling west just after 5:30 a.m., struck it. He was driving alone.
He was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
The truck driver was unharmed.
Route 33 Business was closed for several hours while authorities cleaned and investigated the scene.
