MANCHESTER – Police are asking Whiting residents who live near the Wells Fargo Bank on Route 530 to review and share any home surveillance footage taken from 4-5 p.m. April 9.
An unidentified white male fled the area on foot after robbing the bank. He was described as being about 6 feet tall, average build. He was wearing a black mask, black gloves, sunglasses, black baseball cap and dark colored sweatshirt.
Bank employees had activated their hold-up alarm around 4:35 p.m. While Manchester Township Police were en route, the man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Bank employees said the man didn’t use force and didn’t show a weapon.
Police cordoned off the area and used their K-9 officers during the search. Also joining them were Ocean County Sheriff’s officers and special agents from the FBI’s Red Bank office.
The man is still at large.
Manchester Police Detective Richard Jupinka is investigating. Anyone with footage to share or information can contact the department at 732-657-6111.
