BARNEGAT – The community is on edge following an incident where several gunshots were heard in a quiet neighborhood.
Barnegat Police said the incident was reported to them around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, August 18. Authorities said the location was in the area of Lexington Boulevard.
Police Chief Keith Germain confirmed the incident on his Twitter feed.
At this point, there have been no injuries reported.
Detectives and members of the Crime Reduction Unit are currently investigating the incident.
