BARNEGAT – Frank J. Santilli III, 66, of Barnegat died unexpectedly at home with his family at his side Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, according to his family and a fundraising appeal posted online.
Santilli was born in Hammonton and lived most of his life there. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and worked as a truck driver for Torrissi Transport in Hammonton before retiring, his family said.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a longtime member of the Boot Hill Gun Club. He also enjoyed playing cards, but his family said his greatest joy was spending time with his five grandchildren — and making them fried potatoes for breakfast.
Santilli was predeceased by his parents, Frank J. Santilli Jr. and Anne Marie Santilli (Ciarlante).
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Maxwell, and her husband, David Maxwell; five grandchildren, Aaliyah, Ezequiel, Isabella, Brooklynn and David; siblings Mary Jayne Santilli (Carlo Benedetti), James Santilli (Maria Santilli), Lisa Curcio and Gary Santilli (Chrissie Pantane); and his dog, Trooper.
In a GoFundMe post, Maxwell said her father did not have life insurance and the family is seeking financial help to give him a dignified farewell.
A viewing is scheduled Saturday, Dec. 20, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, with services to follow at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to help with funeral expenses through GoFundMe.
