STAFFORD — An Atlantic City man faces a theft charge after police say he took a nursing home employee’s vehicle for a short time earlier this month.
Stafford Township police said officers were called to the Manahawkin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center shortly after midnight Dec. 9 for a report involving a stolen motor vehicle.
According to police, an employee reported that Jose Amaro, 20, entered her unattended car and drove it away, returning it to the parking lot a few minutes later.
Police said Amaro was found nearby in a gazebo and taken into custody without incident.
He was processed and later released, with a court appearance scheduled at a later date.
