Accident Left Two Cars Disabled In Roadway

  STAFFORD – Police responded to a two vehicle collision yesterday that left both cars disabled in the roadway.

  On September 2, Stafford Police responded to the area of Route 9 near Silo Road for reports of a two vehicle crash.

  According to police, 38-year old Christopher Longo of Barnegat was traveling north on Route 9 in a Honda Accord when the collision occurred. Longo attempted to drive around a vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway when he struck another Honda Accord driven by 25- year old Patricio Lozano of Manahawkin. Lozano was in the process of turning left onto Silo Road at the time of the incident.

  Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene to clean up the gas in the roadway from Lozano’s vehicle. Police stated that both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.

  Police believe both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.

  Traffic on Route 9 was directed through the scene for approximately a half hour.
