Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino will be holding off on checking himself into prison until after the holidays, according to a report by Entertainment Tonight.

Sorrentino has been sentenced to spend 8 months in prison for tax evasion, followed by two years of supervised release.

According to his attorney, Sorrentino requested to push back the start of his sentence in order to spend the holidays with his family. The judge granted this request, allowing Sorrentino Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s with his loved ones at the Jersey Shore. He will check himself in on Jan. 15, ET reported.

Following his Oct. 5 sentencing, Sorrentino noted that he was “happy to put this behind us” via social media. He also announced his upcoming wedding date with fiancée Lauren Pesce as Nov. 1. Sorrentino calls Pesce “My rock, my best friend, my better half & my soul mate.”
