TOMS RIVER — A Middlesex County man has admitted to distributing cocaine in Ocean County and now faces a potential decade-long prison sentence, authorities said.

Bradley D. Billhimer said Shaun Anderson, 47, of Piscataway, pleaded guilty to distributing more than one-half ounce of cocaine. The plea was entered before Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan.

At Anderson’s sentencing, scheduled for March 27, prosecutors intend to seek a 10-year term in New Jersey State Prison, Billhimer said.

The charge stems from a narcotics investigation launched in January 2024 by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force in coordination with the New Jersey State Police and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Investigators determined Anderson was supplying cocaine in Ocean County, including transactions carried out in Lakewood and Toms River townships with undercover law enforcement officers.

Anderson was arrested on March 21, 2024, by the New Jersey State Police and later charged via summons pending court appearances in Ocean County Superior Court.

Billhimer credited Senior Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke for handling the prosecution and praised the collaborative work of multiple agencies involved in the investigation, including the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program, and federal and state law enforcement partners.
