TRENTON — As the Powerball jackpot climbed to $1.7 billion, a Toms River player scored a $50,000 prize, the New Jersey Lottery announced.
The winning ticket was sold at ShopRite on Fischer Boulevard in Ocean County. Monmouth County also had two winners: one ticket purchased at Stop & Shop on Route 34 in Aberdeen and another at Howell Corner Store on Route 9, each worth $50,000.
In total, nine New Jersey players landed major prizes in the September 3 drawing, including one $100,000 winner and eight $50,000 winners. No ticket matched all six numbers, meaning the jackpot will roll over again for Saturday’s drawing.
The winning numbers were 03, 16, 29, 61, 69 and the Powerball was 22. The multiplier was 2.
Since the current run began in late May, 1.6 million New Jersey tickets have claimed prizes, including 50 payouts of $50,000 or more.
The next drawing will be the 42nd in the current streak, the longest in Powerball history.
