OCEAN COUNTY — Ocean Health Initiatives Inc. has received top recognition from the New Jersey Department of Health for its efforts to promote influenza vaccination and educate the public about flu prevention.
The organization was named one of six Top Honors recipients on the state’s 2025-2026 New Jersey Influenza Honor Roll, administered by the Department of Health’s Vaccine Preventable Disease Program.
State health officials recognized OHI for helping residents understand the benefits of flu vaccination and encouraging people to protect themselves and others during the most recent flu season.
Vaccination is particularly important for people who face a greater risk of serious complications, including young children, pregnant women, adults age 65 and older, and individuals with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease.
Other Top Honors recipients included St. John the Baptist Church, the Hamilton Township Division of Health, Hackensack Meridian Health, Preferred Care and Rutgers University.
The Influenza Honor Roll highlights organizations that develop outreach campaigns, share prevention information and encourage vaccination throughout their communities.
