Ocean County Man Had Guns & Ammo, Facing Charges

POINT PLEASANT BORO – A borough resident is facing a slew of serious weapons charges after a police investigation in regards to a number of firearm related crimes.

Point Pleasant Boro Police Captain Robert Lokerson confirmed that 38-year-old Jonathan Cancro was arrested on Tuesday, December 17 after a probe by their department. During the arrest, authorities seized several firearms along with parts and accssories.

Cancro was charged with second-degree possession of an assault firearm, fourth-degree certain persons not to possess firearms and fourth-degree possession of large capacity ammunition magazines.

Police said Cancro was released from custody on a complaint summons pending his first appearance in Superior Court, in accordance with the NJ bail reform law.
