Police Arrest Convenience Store Burglar

MANCHESTER – After four months, police believe they have the man responsible for two convienence store burglaries in the township.

Manchester Township Police said 25-year-old Andrew Norris of Whiting is accused of breaking into the Circle K on Ridgeway Road. Both burglaries occurred in the wee hours of the morning when the store was closed and both took place within a seven day period. 

In both burglaries, police were called to the store by intrusion alarms. Norris entered the building through the roof HVAC system and departed prior to police arrival.  

Police credit the in-store camera surveillance video and tips from the public in Norris’ arrest.

A warrant was issued and he was subsequently arrested in the Whiting section of Manchester Township on December 17, 2019 by members of the Manchester Police Patrol Bureau.

Norris was charged with 2 counts of burglary, 1 count of theft, 1 count of criminal attempt theft, 1 count of criminal mischief and 1 count of obstruction of justice.  

He was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
