HOWELL — A 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after her vehicle veered off Interstate 195 and landed on Route 9 below an overpass, authorities said.
New Jersey State Police tell Jersey Shore Online that they responded to the crash at 10:48 a.m. on February 24 at milepost 27.1 on the eastbound side of I-195.
Trooper Christopher Postorino confirmed that Ava S. Adamo of Bayville was driving a Hyundai SUV when she lost control of the vehicle. The SUV traveled off the right side of the highway, struck a snowbank and then a concrete barrier before going over the overpass and coming to rest in the northbound lanes of Route 9.
No other vehicles were involved.
Adamo sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation. No additional details were immediately available.
