It’s National Library Week

TOMS RIVER – Freeholder Joseph Vicari, who serves as liaison to the county’s library system, recognized the week of April 7 as National Library Week.

He was surrounded by staff from the Toms River Library, the main branch of the Ocean County Library system. Vicari presented the proclamation to Susan Quinn, the library director.

Twenty-one branches comprise the Ocean County Library system.

More than

  • 4.3 million books are circulated
  • 2.5 million reference questions answered
  • 11,500 programs and activities planned for children, young adults, adults and families
  • 3 million visits are made.
