Toms River Groups Hold 2nd Annual Recycled Art Contest for Earth Day

TOMS RIVER – Professional and aspiring artists can help celebrate Earth Day by creating artwork with reclaimed and recycled material for the second annual Recycled Art Work competition.

The theme is “Play in Toms River.”

Artists are invited to use their own materials, or may pick up donated materials at the Shops at 53 Main St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 11 and 12.

Entries must:

  • Be no longer than 2 cubic feet
  • Be composed entirely of recycled and reclaimed materials
  • Include a notecard with the name and description of the work, materials used on the front, and the name, age category and contact information on the back
  • Be dropped off by noon April 14 for judging.

First place and runner up awards will be given in adult individual, children’s and group categories. Winners will be selected at 1 p.m. April 14.

The competition is held by the Toms River Green Team and the Toms River Community Arts Project.
