NEW JERSEY – As we deal with another day of dangerous high heat and humidity, thousands of Jersey Shore residents have no power as isolated outages affect the region.

According to Jersey Central Power & Light, it’s affecting Ocean and Monmouth Counties. Some customers may not see their electric restored till late tonight.

Crews are out working to restore the juice as fast as possible but stress on the electric grid with everyone running their air conditioners could be one of the principal causes.

According to JCP&L spokesman Scott Surgeoner, “3,200 customers are out of service.  About 2,900 of them are tied to one outage – crews are working to restore all customers by 11 tonight.”

A Howell resident tells Jersey Shore Online that the JCP&L recorded line confirms restoration for the Point O’ Woods development at around 10:30 tonight.
