NEW JERSEY – Gov. Phil Murphy said he’s allowing camps, child care and organized sports to resume during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor lifted restrictions during his May 29 daily press briefing noting that the number of cases has risen to 157,815 with the death total at 11,531 in the state.
Child care centers will be able to reopen on June 15, non-contract organized sports activities will restart on June 22 but not indoors and the restriction also includes no contact drills.
Youth day camps, including municipal summer recreation programs can start up on July 6.
Horse racing can resume next week according to the governor who said he was proud “to take this step. We want you to have an active summer with the sports you love but also protecting your health.”
