Man Faces Additional Sexual Assault Charges Of Young Children

 FREEHOLD – A Tinton Falls man remains lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing concerning multiple sexual assault charges involving children.

  Former Long Branch elementary school teacher Gustavo Barrientos, 53, is facing additional sexual assault charges following an investigation by the Long Branch Police Department and Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

  Barrientos who taught school in the Long Branch School District and the Red Bank Charter School was charged with sexually assaulting multiple elementary school children according to a recent announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni. 

  He was initially charged February 14, with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old student. Through the joint investigation of both law enforcement agencies additional charges were made that involved other elementary school children.
