LAKEHURST – “Micromedia what? Micro who? What did you say? Could you please spell that?”
“No problem sir. M-i-c…” “Whoah, wait a minute, I don’t take shorthand.”
“What’s a micromediapubs? Huh?”
“Micromedia.com?” “NO, micromediapubs.” – “Wait, what’s a pubs?”
“IT’S SHORT FOR PUBLICATIONS”
“P as in Paul. U as in unicorn.”
“PUBS!!!!! Like the Regal Beagle on Three’s Company.”
These were just some of the actual phone interactions the Micromedia staff has had with callers during the past 15 years or so, with the micromediapubs.com domain name. Well, as you may or may not know, June 30th of this year was a red-letter date for the company.
It was on this day that we launched our brand new hyperlocal news and advertising site, www.jerseyshoreonline.com.
Now, it’s a lot easier when giving out the web address – although according to one of our staffers, a caller DID say “wow, isn’t that a little long?” I guess you can’t please everyone.
As of October 1st, the original micromediapubs.com e-mail addresses will no longer work. Please make sure you update your contact lists accordingly.
