White Powder In Manchester Sends One To ER

MANCHESTER – A Pine Lake Park resident was rushed to an emergency room for “unknown symptoms” after receiving a package containing white powder. The incident happened on the evening of March 13.

The resident lives on Northampton Boulevard.

The Berkeley Township Emergency Response Team was the hazmat on the scene investigating.

According to the Ocean County Scanner News Facebook Page, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office was called to the scene.

Captain Todd Malland of the Manchester Police Department told The Manchester Times that the powder tested negative for any dangerous substances. There was no harm or danger to anyone on the scene.

He said the investigation has yielded a possible suspect, which authorities are following up on.
