MANCHESTER – A woman was airlifted to a hospital after getting in an accident, and her water broke, police said.

A woman and her adult daughter, who is pregnant, were driving on Horicon Avenue when their vehicle hit a deer, police said. This caused the vehicle to veer off the road into a tree.

They were both alert and conscious when first responders arrived at the scene, police said. The daughter complained of pelvic pain, and her water had broken.

The two women were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. It is unclear if her water broke before or after the crash.

The road has been re-opened.
