LAKEHURST – Lakehurst Police reported drug arrests that went down last month.
Police arrested 43-year-old Brick resident Charles d. Novellano and 49-year-old Toms River resident Allyson M. Frunzi at a local borough hotel.
Officer Robert Schroeck saw Novellano’s vehicle parked outside the motel at 11:41 p.m. June 12. It was known that the Brick man had an active warrant from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He was also a “person of interest” at a previous incident at this same motel.
Frunzi answered the motel room door, where Novellano had hidden in the bathroom. Schroeck and Sgt. Iain James took Novellano into custody without incident. Police searched his vehicle and found 14 wax folds of heroin, four crack pipes, multiple hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
Frunzi was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a CDS. She was issued a summons and has a mandatory court appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.
Novellano was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic needle, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. He was lodged in Ocean County Jail pending a mandatory court appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.
Schroeck and James were assisted by officers William Bowers and Madelyn Waltz.
