LAKEHURST – A car caught on fire at the Lucky 7 Deli in the borough Tuesday night.
Lakehurst Police Sgt. Matt Klein told Jersey Shore Online the driver pulled into the deli’s parking lot around 5:30 p.m. Smoke was coming from the 2009 Honda Santa Fe, which was seen by an officer on traffic duty nearby.
The Lakehurst Volunteer Fire Company arrived at the scene and put out the fire before any damage occurred to the building. No one was injured, Klein added.
Lakehurst First Aid Squad also responded.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, Klein said.
