MANCHESTER – A pregnant woman checked out of the hospital after recovering from a crash on Tuesday, police said.

The woman was a passenger in an SUV driving on Horicon Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. The SUV, being driven by her mother, struck a deer. This caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree.

Police had previously reported that the pregnant woman’s water had broken, but that was not the case.

The passenger, Atiana Doman, is 24 years old and is nine months pregnant. She had complained of pain in her hip and pelvis.

The driver, Kimberly Doman, 43, of Millstone, was semi-conscious and was reporting head and neck injuries. They were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Police reported today that the woman is fine and has checked out of the hospital. The driver will stay in the hospital, as she is still recuperating from her injuries, which are reported to be not life-threatening.

The roadway was closed in both directions briefly. Assisting at the scene were EMTs from Quality Medical Transport and paramedics from MONOC. This crash is being investigated by Sergeant Antonio Ellis of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
