
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST — Residents near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst can expect varying levels of training noise throughout September as military units conduct exercises on the ranges.
Base officials said the schedule includes days of moderate and high noise, with training involving small arms fire, rifles, rotary wing gunnery, heavy crew weapons, mortars, howitzers and cratering charges.
High noise is anticipated on September 7 and 11. Moderate noise, such as .50 caliber weapons and rocket fire, is expected most other days this month. Lower levels of training noise are planned for September 28 and 27.
Officials noted that noise levels may vary depending on cloud cover and weather conditions, and schedules are subject to change based on training needs.
