JACKSON — An Academy Transit coach bus crashed into a home early Wednesday, damaging the foundation and forcing officials to declare the residence uninhabitable, police said.
The crash was reported at about 4:30 a.m. on July 29 at 853 E. Veterans Highway, near the intersection with Whitesville Road, Jackson Police Lt. Edward A. Travisano confirmed in an email to Jersey Shore Online.
The bus driver suffered a minor injury. No passengers were aboard the bus, and no one inside the home was injured.
Emergency crews found the bus lodged against the residence. The home was deemed unsafe to occupy because of damage to its foundation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
