HOWELL – A crash just after midnight on Friday morning claimed the life of a Neptune man.
The collision took place between three vehicles on Route 33, police said. It started when a 2004 Ford F150 crossed into oncoming traffic near Colts Neck Road. The truck hit the side of a 2004 Kia Rio and then struck the front of a 2010 Dodge Challenger.
The driver of the Challenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, police said. The F150 driver, a Jackson resident, was ejected from the truck when it overturned. He is currently in critical condition. The Kia driver was uninjured.
The drivers were not identified by police. The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County SCART and Howell Township Police Department.
