Small Plane Crash Reported In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD – A small airplane towing a banner crashed at the runway at Lakewood Airport.

Police and emergency medical crews responded to the scene at around 12:48 p.m Saturday, August 4.

Ocean County Scanner News was the first to report the incident. No fire broke out due to the crash.

According to Lakewood Police, the pilot was injured and there were no other passengers on board. It happened as the plane was attempting to land on the runway.

The pilot was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The NTSB and FAA have been notified.
