Man Critical After Stabbing In ShopRite Parking Lot

  BRICK – A 44-year-old man is left in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times in the Brick ShopRite parking lot yesterday, police said.

  Around 4 p.m., the Brick Township Police Department arrived at the ShopRite on Route 70. They found the victim with several stab wounds on his back and he was quickly brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment. The man is reported to be in critical but stable condition, police said.

  At this time, the incident is an active and ongoing investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Brick Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

  “There is no danger to the public at this time, our investigation indicates this was a targeted attack against the victim,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer stated.  “We will release more information as it becomes available.”
