Jeep Flips Over In Brick Crash, Driver Injured

BRICK – A 19-year-old township woman remains in serious condition at a shore area trauma center after she was in an accident that led to her vehicle flipping over several times.

Brick Township Police Sargent Jim Kelly said the accident happened Saturday, September 7 just before 8 p.m.

Michelle E. Piccione was driving north on Brick Boulevard approaching the intersection of Drum Point Road. Just after passing through the intersection, Piccione veered right leaving the roadway, striking a curb.

Her Jeep continued onto the property of Drum Point Arms Apartments, overturned and rolled several times before coming to final rest on the northeast corner of the Brick Boulevard entrance to Drum Point Arms Apartments.

Several police units and EMS responded to the scene.

Piccione was treated at the scene and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with lower body and possible internal injuries.

Two northbound lanes on Brick Boulevard in the area of the crash were closed to traffic for two hours during the investigation.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by Ptl. Lampiasi and Ptl. Farnkopf of the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
